Lettuce wrap
This is amazing finger food for everyone. These fish lettuce wraps make a delicious main dish for busy weeknights. Who doesn’t love a fresh and tasty handheld wrap?
I discovered this recipe on a weeknight. I was lazy to cook at the same time didn’t want to eat any fast food. I had some lettuce at home and some fish. So created this awesomeness and ever since that day, lettuce wrap has become one of the staple dishes in the house.
Once you get the basic idea for this recipe, you can substitute fish for more veggies, different flavors of chicken, etc. The possibilities are endless.
It can be used as an appetizer or main dish. It’s so light and refreshing. Perfect for summertime. So without further ado, let’s get to it
Ingredients
2 lettuce leaves
1/2 zucchini or cucumber
1 Fish fillet
1/4 cup onion
1/2 lime
2-3 Tbsp Olive oil for frying
Tomato
Cilantro optional
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Take two of the leaves, wash and pat dry
Trim the edge
Cut cucumber, onion, and tomato into cubes, Chop cilantro, Cut bell pepper
Add it to a bowl
Add salt, pepper, chili flakes, lime juice and mix everything
Cooking Fish
Add few tbsps of olive oil into a nonstick pan
Season the fish with salt and paper.
Place the fish in the pan
Fry on low to medium heat until golden brown
Once the edges get a golden color, Flip and cook the other side until golden brown
Take off of the heat
Divide in half (cut lengthwise )
For assembly
Place a piece of fish on one lettuce leaf
Top with the previously made mixture
Serve with a lime wedge
