Simple & Healthy Granola recipe

This delicious healthy granola recipe is naturally sweetened with honey. It’s made with oats, nuts, and dried fruit. You can be creative and anything here, possibilities are endless. 

This recipe is my favorite, go-to granola recipe. Over these past few months, I’ve played around with it to create the perfect recipe.



Ingredients and its benefits

  • Old-fashioned oats: Also known as rolled oats -It’s a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. Some benefits include weight loss, lower blood sugar levels, and a reduced risk of heart disease. It can lower cholesterol levels, Contain a Powerful Soluble Fiber Called Beta-Glucan, Can Improve Blood Sugar Control

  • Nuts: I almost always use slivered almonds in my granola.  

  • Pumpkin Seeds: Full of Valuable Nutrients, High in Antioxidants, Very High in Magnesium, High in Fiber, Improve Prostate and Bladder Health,

  • Almond: Full of Valuable Nutrients, High in Antioxidants, High in Vitamin E, Can Assist With Blood Sugar Control, Can Lower Cholesterol Levels, Prevent Harmful Oxidation of LDL Cholesterol, Eating Almonds Reduces Hunger, Lowering Your Overall Calorie Intake

  • Cranberries: Made up of carbs and fiber. They also boast several vitamins and minerals, including manganese, copper, and vitamins C, E, and K1. Rich source of various bioactive plant compounds. Some of these, such as A-type proanthocyanidins, may help prevent Urinary Tract Infections, Prevention of Stomach Cancer and Ulcers, 

  • Honey: Or maple syrup, It is a good source of antioxidants, research has shown that raw honey can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus, Help for digestive issues, Soothe a sore throat


Few Tips before we begin


Heating Honey – We only need the honey to be warm, so you can heat it for about 2 minutes in medium heat

Nuts – You can use nuts like Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, Almonds, Pecans, etc

Dried Berries – At the dried berries like Raisins & Cranberries after baking the granola

Baking – 

  • Thinly spread the granola mixture for an even bake

  • I baked mine for 350°F at 15 minutes, stir in the mixture, then increase the heat to 425°F for and bake for 3 minutes

  • Once you increase the heat, it will quickly change color, so keep an eye on it at all times. Once you notice a light brown color, take off the oven

Cooling down – Granola will get little darker once you get it out of the heat, if you burn the mixture, it can taste different

Shape – Once it’s fully cool down, you can break into pieces, Size of the pieces depend on your personal preference

Serve over yogurt & fruits or you can eat it as cereal with some milk



Healthy Granola recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/8 Cup Old Fashion Oat

  • 1/4 Cup Honey

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla 

  • 1/4 cup Almonds

  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin seeds

  • Pecans Optional

  • 1/4 Cup Cranberries

  • 1/4 Cup Raisins

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven 350°F

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper

  • Pour honey into a saucepan, Mix in Honey & Vanilla

  • Heat in medium heat for 2 minutes or until warm

  • Take off the heat

  • Add in all the ingredients except Raisins and Cranberries into honey mixture 

  • Spread the mixture evenly and thinly in the prepared baking tray 

  • Bake 350°F for 15 minutes

  • Open the oven after 15 minutes, stir the granola mixture 

  • Increase the Temperature to 425°F

  • Bake for additional 3-4 minutes

  • Take off the oven

  • Mix in Raisins and cranberries

  • For clumpy granola, don't spread it too much after mixing the dried fruits 

  • Let it cook completely in the baking tray

  • Now you can break the granola into small pieces or bigger pieces depending on your preference

  • Store in an airtight container
