The Ultimate Hash Brown
This hash brown is super easy to make. Usually, hash browns are the perfect side dish for any meal. In this recipe, I will show you the Ultimate Hashbrown so you won’t need a side dish. There’s just something completely satisfying about crispy, brown, buttery potatoes. But hash browns can easily go wrong. Too often they’re mushy, pale, and lack that crispy goodness. Let me show you how to avoid these mistakes!
Making homemade hash browns might seem intimidating, but they are easier to make than you might think once you know the right techniques! All you have to do is grate up some potato, squeeze it dry, and cook the potato in a pan until crispy. Let’s make this Ultimate hash brown.
Hash Brown
Ingredients
3 Potatoes
1/2 Onion
3-4 Eggs
1 Tsp Pepper
1 Tsp Chili Powder
1 Tsp Olive Oil
Salt
2 Tbsp Butter
Optional
Bacon
1/8 Cup Sugar
Dill or Fennel
Instructions
Let’s start by grating the potatoes
Next grate onion from a smaller size grates
Squeeze all the water from the mixture
Add Salt, Pepper, Chili powder and Olive oil
Heat an oven-safe saucepan in medium heat, It should be really hot
Also preheat the oven to 425 °f
Add the mixture into the pan
The mixture should be packed extremely well so it will hold together. Refer to the video or photos
Once it started to change color on the edges, add cube butter, Let it fry.
When it times to flip, this is my trick
Once the edges start to brown, take a plate, keep on top of the hash
Flip the plan, hash brown will easily come into the plate. Now slowly slide the hash into the pan to cook the other side
Let it cook again in medium heat for about 2 minutes
Now for the ultimate hash brown
Add 3-4 eggs on top of the cooked hash brown
Sprinkle chili powder on top
Now place the pan on the preheated oven for 10 minutes
Take it off the oven, Plate everything including candied bacon, top off with dill or any herb you prefer
For Candied Bacon
Fry the bacon by placing the pieces in a pan, before flipping add few tablespoons of sugar
Once it starts to brown, flip and add rest of the sugar
Let it fry until brown color
For crispier candied bacon, let it fry well until dark golden brown color. Take out of the heat, let it cool for a few minutes
